New: brickfox interface supports idealo direct purchase
Transformation into a marketplace: With the direct purchase option, idealo, the price comparison portal popular with online shoppers, is transformed from a “signpost” to a point of sale. Retailers can now add a direct purchase function to the listing of their products. The expanded brickfox-idealo interface guarantees a smooth exchange of orders and an inventory update across all connected sales channels.
With the "direct purchase" option, Germany's largest price comparison portal www.idealo.de becomes a marketplace. The integration of a checkout directly on the product completes the portal's customer journey. Buyers no longer have to go to the retailer's website to buy a product, but can do so directly on idealo.de ... provided the retailer offers this option.
With brickfox, online retailers are already listing on idealo.de. In the future, you will also be able to use idealo direct purchase via brickfox. Using the expanded brickfox-idealo interface, online retailers coordinate the sale of their products on idealo and, in the event of a sale, receive the order and customer data necessary for fulfillment. When an item is sold, the stocks in all sales channels controlled by brickfox are also updated, which prevents overselling. With direct purchase, idealo is no longer "just a signpost" to the online shop, but a new, fully-fledged sales channel. And this is quite popular with customers. Idealo is considered the most reliable price search engine on the market and has been recognized for this by the German Institute for Service Quality. Currently, around 1,5 million active "price comparators" use the idealo app alone, plus numerous users of the desktop version. After all, idealo offers not only the cheapest product, but also a convenient, precise and fast product search. This is particularly useful for items with very specific product names - e.g. winter tires 205/55 R16 91T Continental ContiWinterContact TS 860. They can be found quickly and precisely via idealo. Customers appreciate this option and particularly use the price comparison here. From a retailer's point of view, the "price war" is not always advantageous, but it is worth taking a closer look at the marketplace. On the one hand, the low idealo sales commission creates scope for pricing. On the other hand, idealo is an optimal platform for selling certain ranges, promotional products, discontinued models, etc.
Last but not least, the platform strengthens the branding of the retailer's shop. The customer comes across the product on the idealo platform they are familiar with and buys it there. But the retailer takes care of fulfillment themselves. The retailer's logo is present on idealo throughout the entire sales process - from the product overview to payment. When the product is shipped, the retailer takes over the branding and remains in the customer's mind with its own package CI.
