eBay | New mandatory item characteristics from October 08, 2019
Starting October 08, 2019, providing additional item specifics will be mandatory on eBay in selected categories within the Fashion, Furniture & Home, and Household Appliances sections . Without providing the required item specifics, it will no longer be possible to upload, relist, or edit listings. Sellers will also be unable to make price changes or update their inventory.
Why are item specifics mandatory?
The goal of the new rules for item attributes is to simplify the search for suitable products for buyers. To this end, eBay analyzed all subcategories to determine which item attributes buyers most frequently use to filter their search results. By specifying relevant item attributes, you as a seller benefit from increased visibility and improved sales opportunities.
